Mark Kohoot founded Aeroscena with the mission of connecting scent to the human condition by advancing aromatherapy in clinical settings. Today, Mark is focused on scaling the business by marketing the validated clinical outcomes for the fragrance and delivery IP Aeroscena has generated. Mark founded Aeroscena after serving as an advisor to the Chairman of the Cleveland Clinic Wellness Institute, and uncovering benefits from the little understood science of scent. He spent most of his career in international business development, including serving as Channel Development Director at Eastman Kodak where he was responsible for restructuring the worldwide channel strategy of its billion-dollar Consumer Digital group.
Prior to Kodak, Mark lived in Amsterdam, holding pan-european executive roles at AT&T and Lucent Technologies, where he had a hand in the first ever VOIP network. Additionally, he spent several years as the Executive Director of the French American Chamber of Commerce while at the law firm of Jones Day. He holds a degree in international business from Ohio State University, and graduate study of Marketing at the Ecole Superieure de Commerce (now Audencia) in Nantes, France. Mark also speaks French and Dutch fluently. He holds patents for materials science and semiconductor design, including error correction in solid state memory. His interests include art, particularly contemporary art, travel, philosophy and history. He is a jeweler, woodworker and sculptor. Married and living in Cleveland, Ohio, you’ll often find him working in his awesome garden with his cats.
